GETTING HERE & AROUND

The convenience of Melbourne, with its well-connected CBD and efficient transport network, enhances the ease and enjoyment of events in the city. Located approximately 20–25 minutes from the city centre, Melbourne Airport offers straightforward access via taxi, rideshare, or the dedicated SkyBus service.

Once in the city, Melbourne is highly walkable, with many attractions, dining precincts, and venues located within close proximity. Delegates can also take advantage of the city’s extensive public transport network, including trains, trams, and buses, with free tram travel available within the central Free Tram Zone.

  • Taxis and rideshare services like Uber are readily available at Melbourne Airport. The journey to the city centre is relatively short, taking around 25 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

  • A dedicated SkyBus operates between the airport and the city centre. These services are cost-effective, and you can find them by following the red signs just outside the terminal.

  • Public Transport Victoria (PTV) operates Trains, Trams and Buses across Melbourne and wider Victoria. Be sure to pick up a Myki transport card from a train station or convenience store, as credit card or cash is not accepted onboard.

There are limited public transport options from the airport outside the SkyBus or rideshare.

  • If you prefer the flexibility of having your own vehicle, several car rental companies operate at Melbourne Airport. You can rent a car and drive to the city centre, which is a straightforward route.
