Thematic Session Topics:

1) Management of NORM impacted areas: from risk assessment to remediation

2) Radioactive waste management and disposal, and consideration of long timescales (incl. climate change)

3) New development on measurements and metrology

4) Emergency preparedness and revitalization: lessons from the past and current world events

5) Effects of radioactivity on the ecosystems: from a mechanistic understanding to a holistic approach of radiation protection

6) Understanding and modelling radionuclide mobility and bioavailability in the environment

7) Application of and developments in environmental radiation protection, incl. use of artificial intelligence and Big Data and promoting communication and citizen science initiatives

Special Session Topics:

1) Fukushima – 15 years of follow-up on radioecology and environmental radioactivity
