Mentor/Mentee events

New to ICRER, or keen to share your experience? Our mentoring program pairs seasoned researchers with those newer to the field — through the Buddy Program and a dedicated breakfast — so no one has to navigate the conference alone.

The Buddy Program matches long-term members of ICRER (Buddy Mentors) with first-time, international, and student / ECR attendees (Buddy Mentees) attending the conference.

ICRER 2027 provides an excellent opportunity for scientific discussion, knowledge sharing and networking. However, attending a large conference can be challenging and overwhelming for new participants. To help support these attendees, Buddy Mentors and Buddy Mentees will be matched prior to the conference and given the opportunity to connect via email before the event. Participants will also be encouraged to meet in person during the conference.

As a participant, you will be expected to spend at least a couple of hours with your Buddy Mentor or Buddy Mentee during the conference, with the flexibility to continue the relationship after the event if desired.

Participants will also be invited to attend a complimentary Buddy System Breakfast on the first morning of the conference, providing an opportunity to meet their Buddy Mentor or Buddy Mentee in person.
